Monday: Guiding Light
Alan has hit rock bottom for sure. He is still sitting in the bar that him and Gus were sitting in on Friday. The waitor comes over to tell him that he needs to pay his bill. Alan told him that he thought Gus took care of that. The waitor assured him that Gus did not take care of it and he was going to need to do it soon. Alan pulls out his wallet to double check. Yep – his wallet was completely empty.
Dinah comes by then and asked Alan what was wrong. She threw down one of her credit cards and when she turned to walk away she told Alan to do her a favor and go by himself a new suit. Alan hands the card to the waitor but it came back denied. “Damn you Dinah” Alan cursed as he took the card back. He told the waitor that he was going to walk out of there with his dignity and when he gets the money he will come back and buy the place and settle his bill. The waitor warned him not to go before he paid. Alan walks to the elevator and gets on, turns around to see the waitor on the phone calling the authorities.
Lizzy and Bill are playing around when Lizzie notices the headlines of the newspaper. The Spaulding mansion will be sold at auction today. Lizzie is upset because her stuff is still in that mansion. She told Bill about her doll house that she use to play with that her dad bought her, and other things that was still in there. She goes into the bathroom to get dressed. Bill gets up and gets dressed to. He goes over to the mansion where he met up with Dinah. He made Dinah promise not to say anything about what they were going to do.
Jeffrey comes in and sits down on Olivia’s bed. He tells her that she is not going to get her heart afterall. When she left the hospital the administrator didn’t know where she was to confirm it so she had to pass it on to the next donor to keep from wasting the heart. Jeffrey tells her that he is so sorry and hold her while she cries.
Olivia wakes up to find Buzz by her side. She can barely talk now and is very short of breath. She told Buzz that she really did love him and she never meant to hurt him. Buzz said he forgave her or else he wouldn’t be there. Just then Ava comes in and sits down on her bed. Buzz leaves. Olivia tells Ava to promise her that she will be there for Emma. They will have sleep overs, and she needs to let her eat ice cream even if she don’t finish her dinner. Ava starts to cry as Olivia pulls her to her and holds her tightly.
Lizzie is lying on her bed listening to her radio when Bill comes in carrying her doll house.
Alan goes to the Spaulding Mansion only to find the gates closed and locked with an advertisement about the auction hanging on it. Dinah is hiding behind a tree when she peeks out smiling and then goes into hiding again. Beth walks up to Alan and hold him.
Dinah and Mallet goes out for a burger. Dinah confessed that she has missed spending time with him. Mallet said he missed her too. But he also told her that he has several things going on that is more pressing; Frank’s job, getting Marina back on her feet, and more. He also told her that he hasn’t ruled their relationship out completely but right now he has more pressing matters to tend to.
Guiding Light…Gus is hurt
Gus is now cleaned up and his head wound is wrapped. He is conscious and alert. Rick comes out of his room and Jeffrey is there. Rick tells Jeffrey that they are going to need to do surgery in order to stop the bleeding. Jeffrey goes in to talk to Gus. Jeffrey tells Gus about Olivia’s heart and that it is on it’s way so he won’t worry. Jeffrey offers to call people for Gus including his sister but Gus tells Jeffrey not to call her because it would be too dangerous for her to come there.
Buzz goes over to tell Harley about Gus. He interrupts Harley and Cyrus starting to make love. Harley heads over to the hospital where she meets up with Natalia. Meanwhile Olivia musters up enough energy to go see Gus. She tells him how much he has helped her and cries. Olivia soon returns to her room because she is getting weaker every moment.
Harley comes in and sits beside of Gus. He tells her that he never did finish her house. Harley tells him that he and the boys can work on it when he comes home. The nurses come in to get him and Harley tells the nurse to wait a second… There is something that she needs to say to him. She told Gus that he is still her one true love. He whispered it back to her and they wheel him away.
In the OR prep area Natalia goes in to see him and she cries over him as he tries to make her feel better. Her visit was cut short when Rick comes in and hands her Gus’ things to hold on to in a bag. She cries as he leaves.
Later on, Gus is pushed back into his room. Natalia and Harley talk to Rick. They are in shock when Rick tells them that he could not stop the bleeding. Natalia yells “NO!” and turns away to run into Gus’ room. Harley is still in shock as she said “What do you mean?” Rick tell her that Gus is just hanging on right now. There is nothing more he can do. Harley goes in and puts her hands to her face.

FYI on Ricky Paul Goldin…
Ricky Paul Goldin, AKA Gus Aituro on GL will be moving from CBS to ABC soaps at the end of April 2008. It seems as though he has accepted a deal with ABC where he will play as Dr. Jake Martin on All my Children.
Ricky Paul’s character, Dr. Martin has been played in the past by Michael Lowry and J. Eddie Peck.
So all you Ricky Paul fans…you will need to switch channels to see him everyday.

Going and Coming…
It’s a sad moment for ATWT fans as they watch the departure of Martha Byrne, who plays Lily Snyder. Martha has played the role of Lily since the early 80’s. The new Lily Snyder will be played by Noelle Beck who will make her appearance sometime in May 2008.
Mike Kasnoff is coming back to Oakdale on April 02, 2008 to try to win the heart of Katie again. Mike is on a new adventure and he wants to settle down in Oakdale again. Mark Collier will not be returning as Mike Kasnoff. Instead Jon Prescott will take over the role. Will he and Katie get back together?
Guiding Light Friday March 28, 2008
Guiding light was very interesting on Friday. It all started with everyone trying to make it to Olivia’s bedside before she died. A destraught Ava was on the phone trying to convince Olivia’s brother, Sam, to hop on the next plane and come to the hospital. Gus was having a drink with Alan when Ava called his phone and told him to hurry up and get to the hospital because Olivia is dying. Gus’ car won’t start and he goes back in to call a cab but Remy over hears him telling Alan that he needed a cab. Remy told Gus that anyone would be glad to get away from Alan and he could take his bike. Gus didn’t think twice as he hopped on Remy’s motorcycle to go down the road to say goodbye to Olivia.
Meanwhile Reva had taken Olivia outside for a quick breath of fresh air. Reva leaves Olivia alone for a while so she could make peace with the fact that she is dying. Olivia prays to God to let her live so she can see Emma grow up.
Rick and Jeffrey catch up with Ava who is outside trying to get everyone at the hospital. Rick tells Ava that he has found a heart for Olivia and they need to hurry up and give Olivia the good news. Ava and Jeffrey run back inside to tell Olivia but she is gone. Ava starts to panic and calls Gus. Gus tells her that he is on his way.
Meanwhile… Reva is bringing Olivia back into her room. Reva tells Olivia to sit tight and she will go tell the nurse that she is back. Ava runs up to Olivia to tell her the good news about the heart. They look over at a new patient that has just been brought in with severe head trauma. Olivia immediately recognizes that the injured patient wearing a leather riding jacket is Gus….

One of the best times in my day is when I can sit down to watch my favorite soap. I don’t always get to catch the soap but when I do I love to blog about it.
